To me, a doodle is the purest form of self-expression. Without the meddling of thought or meaning, the mind and hand work together in mysterious ways. What comes forth is more than just a drawing, it's the honest manifestation of the artist. Much more untainted than any planned sketch. Inside every artist grows a Doodle Tree, from which all doodles are taken, like fruit from a vine. Some doodles spout into ideas, and from those ideas spawn new trees of creativity. This is a picture of my inner Doodle Tree.
I kind of let myself go with this one. Instead of thinking it out, I just drew whatever came into my head first. This was completely a doodle. ^_^ |

I gave up long ago trying to define and describe art and it's philosophy, but the freeform doodle, I will say, is a pure form of artistic expression; it comes from the soul, the intellect does not shape it and water it down.
